Just looking at a map of Greece and one immediately gets the feeling so many islands crowded together to form one of the oldest nations on Earth are the perfect place for a sailing holiday, as many of the islands can only be reached by boat.

All you need for a Greece boat rental holiday is some form of qualification which is internationally recognized, testifying that you can sail a yacht (generally, a skipper license for coastal sailing issued in your own country will suffice), plus another one for at least one more member of the crew, as this is the law in Greece. Then, you need a valid passport but only if you're not from the European Union countries or from the Schengen Agreement countries.
